To get you started,
here are some of my most frequently asked questions .
Can you accommodate large wedding parties?
I have a team of highly trained and certified stylist so we are able to accommodate larger parties and also create a more enjoyable experience for you and your favorite gals! Each artist has their own unique skill set and style secrets. We pride ourselves on having the ability to whip up diverse, unique styles that are customizable to each client that sits in our chair.
Can I work with you from long distance?
Of course! We work with a lot of clients from outside of the Wyom area and even abroad. Everything can easily be done via email, phone, or Zoom and FaceTime.
What makeup brands do you use?
I use a wide range of products from many different brands. I do not solely use one Makeup brand company as I believe each company has a distinct product that they pride themselves on or that I find to favor in most companies. Only high quality and high performing products are in my kit to ensure your makeup is flawless on camera. All products are tested for performance prior to making it into my collection. Please contact me with any questions regarding allergies in your party.
What do you charge for destination weddings?
Each wedding is different. We will be happy to give you a custom quote once we know all your details. Schedule a Complimentary Phone Call or Get a Quote.
What if I can’t meet the minimum? Do you offer just hair and makeup for the bride?
We do offer a bridal package for brides only. No problem. However, it still requires a minimum monetary amount for us to travel on-location. See Bridal pricing sheet for reference. You can also book a la carte options as well. If you can’t find guests to fill the “bridesmaid” spots, consider asking a special guest! They love to get their makeup done too!
Where are you located?
Hair & Makeup by Tanya is a team of licensed freelance stylists and artists which means we work on-location. Most of the team including myself all live over an hour away from Jackson Hole. We travel anywhere in the Rocky Mountain West and even destination weddings! We will bring the beauty to you! Travel fees may apply depending on the location of the team for your trials and wedding day.
Why is the bride more expensive than everyone else?
The price of the bride includes lashes and all of the extra pamper time. We spend almost double time with our brides. After all, we are here for you! We also build in custom timelines for you and your party. The higher price for the bride covers all of our communication, timelines, a mini touch-up kit and ensure everything is absolutely perfect on your big day.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, I require a deposit of $200, and a signed contract to hold your wedding date. The $200 deposit will come off your final balance for Elopements and Photoshoots.
Do you travel out-of-state to do makeup?
Yes, we travel and have passports! Please schedule a complimentary phone consultation to discuss options for destination wedding services.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Yes, the travel fee is a flat $50 per team members needed. Although most of the team is not based in Jackson Hole this covers their travel as well. We charge a travel fee of $2.00 per mile for all locations that are more than 15 miles round-trip from the Jackson Hole area. We do have teams in Idaho and Montana to better serve our brides needs in those location and are expanding as we speak. Please inquire for more details.
Do you have a minimum for on-location services?
Yes, we do have a minimum for all of our on-location services of the bride plus 3 people.
For the high season (June-November), we require a bride plus 3 minimum.
I’m a bit nervous about booking right away. Can I book my trial and give a deposit at a later date?
We can’t hold a date without a contract and booking fee. The sooner you know your date, the better. Tanya personally books 2 years in advance and takes a very limited amount of weddings per year.
The team books up to 12 months out and goes quickly.
Once you have secured a venue and date, we advise that you book hair and makeup right after. We have great photographer recommendations as well— just ask!
How far in advanced should I book?
We start booking a year out! Our most popular months are May through October which tend to book up first. To secure your date a contract and deposit is required. Without this, we unfortunately cannot hold your date. Fill out our bridal form under Contact and we’ll send you additional information!
How will the Hair & Makeup Schedule go on the day of?
Unless specified, I do not typically do day of timelines. You will have a set start time which will be determined by the amount of services needed, photographer arrival time for “getting ready” pics and departure time. If you have multiple people in your bridal party getting services done I ask that everyone arrive at the set start time and come prepared with day old dry hair for styling and a fresh face for makeup. The reason I do not do time slots is because everyones hair type and desired style will be different. I like to have everyone there and ready so things go smoothly on both ends.
Will I be your only event on the day of my wedding?
Due to extremely high volume of clients there may be other appointments on your wedding day. If you have booked already and paid your deposit I personally will be there every step of your journey including trial run and the day of. However, if I’m booked that day I will let you know ahead of time and will set you up with my team of highly specialized bridal artist. If you have scheduled to have on-location services and/or have booked on-site services after the ceremony you will be my main priority throughout the day.
Will my makeup last all night? What if I cry?
Absolutely. A true professional makeup application will last the full duration of your event. Not only are the eyes and skin prepared with the proper skin care and priming products, but you will be set and finished with professional powders and sprays that seal in and help fix the makeup in place. All the products in between the prepping and sealing are chosen for their longevity and high performance in all tear/sweat and weather conditions.
Are trials required and when should I book one?
Trials are extremely important in creating your dream look and gives you the opportunity to try multiple looks. We also want to connect with you before the big day so we can get to know each other a bit more! Doing a trial in the same season as your wedding is recommended as our hair and skin tends to shift with weather. This will give you the most accurate version of yourself. Trials are done on-location. If you prefer to have a trial before booking your date, we can definitely arrange that for you but please know that without the deposit and contract, we cannot hold your date.
ARE YOU able to do a variety of skin tones?
Absolutely! All of our makeup artists are professionally trained and have a makeup kit that can be used on every skin tone. We take this very seriously. We will never tell you to bring your own foundation (unless you have a specific allergy). We have you covered!
May we use a hair stylist or makeup artist from another service provider for other members of the wedding party?
Yes, we don’t require you to book our team for both services. You can book us for just makeup, just hair, or both. However, we prefer not to work with other hair and makeup vendors if at all possible. We want your look to be cohesive and consistent with the rest of your bridal party for photographs.
Pack light and love Harder, darlings
I look forward to seeing you soon!
